Beatitudes 2020

Woe to those who are happy, for their vision is too small,

Woe to the ones who are safe, for they have nothing to strive for,

Woe to the comfortable, for they become lazy and indifferent,

Woe to the content, who fear strong feelings, for they already have their numb reward.

But blessed are the unsatisfied, for they can see beyond what they have been allowed,

Blessed are the lonely, for they can see the value of a companion,

Blessed are those who are angry, for they actually give a shit,

Blessed are the sorrowful, for they have known joy,

Blessed are the grief stricken, for they have known great love.

For the gifts of this world are shallow and unsatisfying,

But the gifts of God feed the soul and bind us to each other,

So, seek out the things that make you uneasy,

And strive toward that which takes you out of your comfort zone,

For in these places you will find one another,

And in finding one another, you will find God.
